c) Maximum number of a group member is six including the leader. Teams with additional member will be disqualified.

 

2. Registration

 

a. Registration must be done online via INDES2022 website.

b. Participants are allowed to register more than one project but separate registration forms must be filled in.

c. The organizing committee reserves the right to accept or reject any application without clarification.

d. Registration is only valid once the payment has been made.

 

 

3. Submission Deadline

 

Interested participants must complete the registration form with an abstract via INDES 2022 website by 31st October 2022. Please refer to the submission guidelines.

 

4. Code of Ethics

The following participations are not accepted for this competition:

a. Duplicating others’ work or plagiarism

b. Using the work of other participants

c. Falsifying data or notes

d. Piracy

e. Provocation of public’s sensitivity or contain values that are against moral, public health and welfare.

f. Product which has been presented before in other innovation competitions will not be accepted.

 

5. Submission Guidelines

 

a. Each video must start with INDES 2022 banner

b. It is a recorded video presentation of participants’ invention, innovation and design based on the chosen theme.

c. Video presentations can use creative methods such as using animations or still images. However, the presentations must be accompanied with voiceovers. 

d. The length of the video presentation is within 3 to 7 minutes. Marks will be deducted if it exceeds 7 minutes.

e. The video must be uploaded on participants’ Youtube account before it can be assessed. Participants must share the Youtube link with the organiser once registration is confirmed.

The video must be uploaded through a YouTube account prepared by INDES 2022.

f. The video must be submitted by 31st October 2022.

 

6. Judging Criteria and Results

 

a. Participants are free to choose any information to be included in the video presentation. However, the information displayed must be related to the Innovation, Invention or Design product. Below are some suggestions to be included:

 

1. Product title

2. Members & Institution

3. Introduction

4. Problem Statement(s)

5. Objective(s)

6. Novelty

7. Usefulness

8. Commercialization potential

9. Awards received/publications

 

b. The judging period will begin on 1st November 2022 until 14th November 2022.

c. All invention/ innovation/ design products will be evaluated virtually by appointed judges.

d. The results will be emailed to all participants and revealed online via INDES2022 website on 25th November 2022 and

e. The judges’ decision is final. Any objection will not be entertained.

 

7. Certificates/Awards/Medals/Prizes

 

a. Participants will be assessed based on the predetermined criteria.

b. A medal and a digital certificate indicating the name of the leader, members of the groups and the product title will be awarded to all winners.

c. Participants will be charged RM55 each for additional request of medal (gold/silver/bronze) excluding the courier charge.

d. Request of additional medal can be made after the results are revealed.

8. Participation Fees and Payments.

 

a. All payments must be made through UiTMPay Portal only.

b. Once the registration form has been accepted and the registration is confirmed by the organizing committee, the participant is obliged to pay the total amount of fees within the allocated time frame. Please refer to INDES2022 website for further details on payment method.

c. All participants must pay the required fees as per category registered. Fees paid are not refundable.

d. Any change of name and number of participants shall be notified not later than THREE WEEKS before the date of the competition.

e. Changes of title and project category are not allowed after closing date.

 

 

9. Others

 

a. All results is final; any correspondence about the result will not be entertained. The panel of judges or the organizing committees are not liable in respect of any matters which arise from or are connected to the results of the competition.
